Welcome to Cipher App. We built this platform with a "Privacy by Design" philosophy. Our mission is to provide secure communication without the prying eyes of third parties—including ourselves.

This policy explains what information we collect, what we don't collect, and how we protect your digital footprint.

2. Data We Collect

We believe in data minimization. We only ask for what is strictly necessary to run the service.

  • Account Information: Your phone number is used to create your account and verify your identity.
  • Profile Info: You may optionally add a display name and profile picture.
  • Technical Logs: Minimal logs (like crash reports) to help us fix bugs. These are anonymized.
The Cipher Promise: We do not sell your data to advertisers. We do not build "shadow profiles." Your conversations are your business.

3. Security & Encryption

This is the core of Cipher App. All messages, voice calls, and file transfers are protected by End-to-End Encryption (E2EE).

This means the keys to decrypt your messages stay on your device and the recipient's device. Cipher App cannot read your messages even if we were compelled to do so by a third party.

4. Data Sharing

We only share data when legally required or necessary to provide our services:

  • Service Providers: We use trusted partners for SMS verification and push notifications.
  • Legal Requirements: We comply with valid legal processes, but since we use E2EE, we cannot provide message content.

5. Your Rights

You have full control over your data. Within the app, you can:

  • Request a copy of the data we store.
  • Update your profile information at any time.
  • Delete your account: This permanently removes your data from our servers.
